KVM extender solutions

A use of KVM extender is common in Industrial applications, where the computer can be kept in dry office environment, one control position (monitor, keyboard and mouse) can be at a control room, while the second terminal is doubled to the often humid and dusty factory floor, long distances (up to 10km) from the related computer.

In today´s applications it’s usual, that computers also need to be placed in a secure place , away from the user, usual in infoterminal and banking solutions. Also for creating a comfortable working environment, it can be required to place all noisy computers into a server room, and just to extend the controls to the office desk - this is also often the case with medical applications, where at the bed side just is no place for computer hardware.

Draco switches :: Minor & Major
Repeater / Crosspoint / KVM switch - all in one

Draco Minor - a 8 port chassis; and Draco Major - a 16+32 port chassis.

Draco Minor allows flexible installations; 1/7 User KVM (or 1/3 DualHead KVM), a 8 -port Repeater and crosspoint -switch.

Draco Major can be used as a 8/8 to 16/32 crosspoint switch or a 8 User/8 CPU to 16 User/32 CPU (4/4 to 4/16 Dualhead KVM switch)

The advantages:

1. Chameleon: each switch can be used as a repeater; as a crosspoint switch and as a singlehead-KVM or a dual-head KVM-switch.

2. Built in extension: Draco is available with CATx and Fiber CBIC's (sender/receiver units). This allows locating a CPU or a user behind Fiber or Catx connection 100/400/10.000 meters away from the switch - and this via hardwired connection - skipping the latency issues known from IP-technologies.

Extension distances are same at the both sides of the switch, so point to point CATx distance is 2x 140m and Fiber 2x 400m with MM or 2x 10km with SM. IHSE´s DVXi extender units are used as Draco's User/CPU -connection stations; removing any need for additional extenders.

DXXi & DSXi - Digitaalinen DVI KVM siirto

DXXi Digital FIBER extender Max.2560x2048 Res.

Does extending a Real time moving DVI-Image sound too good to be true ?; No more, the DXXi does just that, in full quality, extending upto 400 meters via Multi Mode fiber cable, offering a DVI connection extended thru single Fiber ( 3 fibers on Dual link); and additional USB HID support as standard. To make things better, DXXi family supports both Single Head and Dual Head installations with singlelink and DUAL LINK support  [ DVI CONNECTORS ]. The crowning feature; the DXXi doe NOT implement ANY Compression or color reduction - resulting into image without any Latency issues. With good reason one can argue that the quality of Dvi extension is defined completely anew.

DSXi - Digital CATx extender Max.2560x2048 Res.

DSXi family is comparable product to the DSXi, working over CATx cable. It offers also the No compression/No color reduction, latency free image transfer, support for USB HID extension, and even Dual Link model - all thru standard CATx cable. Limitation on CATx extension, the full quality can be supported 30 meters, reduced quality 50 meters, but comparable economical solution for thsoe short distances where fiber isolation sis not needed.

DVXi Digital (DVi) KVM extenders

The DVXi-Extender family products support DVI graphic interfaces (DVI-D)  [ DVI CONNECTORS ] and either PS2 or USB- keyboard/mouse. VGA is not supported. Even on highest resolutions a comfortable working and a smooth picture movement on videos is reached. Comparing to other devices, the maximum transfer distance does not depend on the screen resolution! Using a highly effective Compression algorithm, the maximum data rate of the transfer can be used at all situations.

The DVXI utilizes a state of the art signal processing to speed up the extension of images. In three steps the colordepth is first automatically chosen between 18/24 Bits, after which a RLE-procedure sends pixel count of SAME colored pixels, instead each individual pixel. Only at third stage follows the frame dropping when needed. For extensions for realtime streaming video -applications, we suggest the use of new DXXI/DSXI -extenders.

At the max. resolution of 1920x1200 140m can be bridged using CATx, 400m with Multimode 50µ Fiber cable (200m @ /XV devices) or up to 10km (2Km @ /XV devices) using Single mode 9µ Fiber. Optionally there are Dual-Head devices available, supporting workspaces with dual-head graphic cards and two independent monitors (using 2 separate junction cables).

DDXi KVM extender, CWDM MUX

CWDM MUX / DEMUX

CWDM MUX / DEMUX is a handy tool to reduce the needed fibers by 75%. Not only are the fiber cables still relatively expensive, but also the manual labour needed to install fiber on tight cable channels creates combined costs and extends the time needed for the applying a new fiber line. The CWDM multiplies immediately any existing cabling bandwidth and saves not only money, but also valuable installation time.

Future proof Digital KVM extender

DDXi is a DVI-I  [ DVI CONNECTORS ] -extender, supporting traditional analog VGA as well as digital DVI. All combinations of DVI and VGA are supported, as well as automated switching between the two, allowing equipment to be mixed. You could use DDXi today to extend (with perfect image quality) your existing SVGA equipment. If you later purchase a DVI monitor you can use it with DDXi even though your computer is equipped with a VGA graphic card. When you finally upgrade to a DVI graphics card, DDXi will continue to extend your system without any reconfiguration.

VTO/VRO 5 Fiber extender solutions

Replacing the old VTO series 5.00 extender, the new Series 6.00 VTO/VRO/VGO is designed to replace the old types on rolling projects. The smaller housing allows mounting of up to 3 devices into 1U rack space. Over distances of up to 1000m you can transmit VGA, PS2-Keyboard and -Mouse, and a serial interface/Audio signals.

Screen Resolution of 1280x1024 is supported with the devices of the revision 6.00 over the full length of 1000m without degradation of the video signal. An AGC, Automatic Gain Control, an automatic white level correction, ensures correct colors over the whole product life, even when parameters change. A 7-Segment Display supports you during diagnostics and trouble shooting.
